Our Story

Luviano Eyewear was designed by Yesenia Valle, an optician and certified ophthalmic assistant, who loves all things vintage from the 1940s to the 1960s, and also with a passion of promoting the importance of eye health. Crafted from premium Italian acetate, each pair of our vintage-inspired sunglasses embodies our commitment to quality and style. We prioritize the importance of wearing sun protection with polarized lenses that not only enhance visual clarity but also safeguard your eyes from harmful UVA and UVB rays.

Luviano Eyewear was born from a place of deep love and heartfelt remembrance. In 2021, following the passing of her beloved mother, Carmen Luviano, Yesenia found solace and inspiration in creating something beautiful to honor her memory.

Our collection goes beyond fashion; it celebrates the women who have profoundly impacted Yesenia's life. Every style is named after those who have shown her unconditional love and support during both her happiest and darkest hours. These women, much like Carmen, embody the strength, compassion, and resilience that Luviano Eyewear stands for.

As you wear our sunglasses, know that you are part of a story that cherishes the bonds of love and the power of enduring memories. Thank you for being a part of our journey and for celebrating the legacy of remarkable women with us.

Warm regards,

The Luviano Eyewear family (Yesenia, Aurelio, Victor and Ivy)

IF ADDING PRESCRIPTION LENSES:

Because of the purity of our acetate material, our full acetate frames are not compatible with polycarbonate lenses. The compounds of the acetate and the polycarbonate will cause a reaction and result in damage to the lenses.

Lens materials, CR39 /plastic, trivex and hi-index lenses are compatible with our full acetate frames. For our mixed acetate and metal frames, like the Carmen, any lens material will work including polycarbonate.

If you need adjustments for a better fit or if you would like to add your prescription please visit your local optician for best individual advice.

Feel free to message us if you have any questions.

Our material

The Italian material that we use is Mazzucchelli's Cellulose Acetate.

To obtain Cellulose Acetate it starts with the selection of renewable sources such as certain varieties of trees and cotton linters. As a result, the acetate is durable, light weight and comfortable to wear. The metal that is used in our product is stailess steel, a hypollaergenic metal.

Our lenses are scratch resistance TAC UV400 polarized lenses that protect you from UVA/UVB.

Our materials and productions are located in the two specialized optical districts in the world, Italy and China.
